Memories

Alan was a user in the early days of Making Space in the early 80's. Was it North West Fellowship/Natinal Schizophrenic Society ? And knewDavid Lyne from then. He had the ear of David, advocating for quality accommodation for sufferers and was involved in setting up The Limes in Nelson.

He went on to establish (with a friend) a charity in the Pendle area, Greenspace, which was successful for many years in getting sufferers into a gardening/work environment.

Alan died suddenly in April 26, through unrelated health issues, after lifetime of struggling with mental health problems, although he managed (with medication) to lead a full life

Making Space Being Ready Fund - Making Space

Making Space now has 3 funds that donations and grants can support. The money in each fund can go to any Making Space division or service. So, each fund will support people living with dementia, with mental health conditions, learning disabilities, age-related concerns and unpaid carers.

You have chosen to support the Being Ready Fund. 

The Being Ready Fund helps to prepare the people who draw on our support for future challenges.

At Making Space, we believe it is vital that we work to prevent future issues or concerns.

The Being Ready Fund could pay for technology that helps prevent falls, wellbeing projects that reduce loneliness and funding to ensure unpaid carers can afford essential items.
