Making Space provides vital services in Calderdale that help local carers to live full and happy lives. This is a fundraising page for the community and businesses of Calderdale to support the needs of unpaid carers. Carers desire to look after their loved one can often lead to them neglecting themselves. Furthermore, carers can experience feelings of guilt and anxiety when leaving their loved one and isolation and loneliness as they focus fully on their caring role. Our services work with carers to help them feel ready to take a break from caring, offer activity groups and breaks to give them time for themselves and provide qualified cover to care for their loved one while they take time out.
Carers Wellbeing Service provides a range of resources and support so that carers take time to consider their own wellbeing. Support includes individual needs assessments, social groups and activities and varied support groups including a specialist men's group.
Mental Health Carer Support Service provides emotional support, advice and guidance to assist carers in their caring role and also, help them to enjoy their lives away from their caring responsibilities. We provide information on mental health conditions, treatments and find the right mental health services.
How can you help?
£50 pays for a therapy day for a carer to relax and unwind.
£100 helps provide respite care so a carer can take a few hours for themselves or even an overnight break.
£450 pays for a coach to take our carers on a day out.
Carers provide vital care and support to their loved ones and it is important that someone cares for them too. We would appreciate any donation you can give. Thank you
