We're taking on a swimming relay challenge to raise vital funds for the people we support!
We're all staff and volunteers from Making Space service, Rotherham Dementia Carer Support and we are going to swim lengths of the pool in Maltby Leisure Centre on Wednesday 23 July.
Our team are- Linda Stanbra (staff), Jodie Whitaker (staff) and volunteers, Liz and Anne!
We'll be relay swimming for 2 hours from 1:30-3:30 and we want to swim as many lengths of the pool as we can and raise as much money as we can to help the people we support. We help unpaid carers who care for a loved one experiencing memory loss, forgetfulness or dementia.
Being an unpaid carer can be physically and emotionally demanding. We are here to ensure that carers and the loved ones they care for never feel alone as they face the challenges ahead.
We are here to help the people we support live well with dementia.
The money we raise from sponsorship will provide funds to provide more activities at our Dementia Cafes. Our cafés offer unpaid carers and the person they care for, the chance to meet others in a similar situation in a positive and relaxing atmosphere. We want to provide a variety of activities at our cafes to give the people we support the chance to try something new, meet new people and have some fun.
Thank you to Maltby Leisure Centre for allowing us to use the pool for free.
We're nervous but excited to take on our challenge and we'd love your support. Please donate today to help us support isolated and lonely unpaid carers and the people they support to enjoy new and fun activities.
Thank you.
