About The Shop

The Tailor-Making Fund ensures the people who draw on our support are given the tools to gain greater independence beyond Making Space.

We work with many of the people who draw on our support to develop the skills they need to live independently.

You can make a huge difference to people with mental health conditions and learning disabilities on their road to independence by purchasing items from our virtual shop.

The items available to purchase are equipment, goods or passes that will help a person Making Space supports to be more independent. The items will NOT be sent to you but instead will be gifted to a person we support who needs them most at that time. 

If we have an excess of the item purchased or another item is urgently needed at that time, then the funds will be utilised wisely and an item of greater need will be purchased.

Making Space Tailor-Making Fund - Making Space

Making Space now has 3 funds that donations and grants can support. The money in each fund can go to any Making Space division or service. So, each fund will support people living with dementia, with mental health conditions, learning disabilities, age-related concerns and unpaid carers.

We work with many of the people we support to develop the skills they will need to live independently and support them to independence,

The Tailor-Making Fund will ensure the people who draw on our support are given the tools to gain greater independence beyond Making Space.    

The Tailor-Making Fund can pay for travel passes or tickets, training in daily living skills such as cooking, cleaning and managing a household, workshops on budgeting and financial planning and training on CV writing and interview skills.

You can make a huge difference as your donations supports individuals to build confidence, skills and knowledge to support them to independence.

Bus or Travel pass for one month

A bus or travel pass will help a person we support by reducing the risk of isolation, boost mental wellbeing and allow for free travel to shops, appointments and community activities, improving quality of life and help as they adapt to greater independence.

Cleaning Products Bundle

The people who draw on our support may need a selection of cleaning products to start life in a new home. The products will help them to take pride in their new environment and help them to settle in to their new surroundings.

Gym Membership

 Going to the gym is an effective way for people to gain and maintain independence. It directly strengthens the body, boosts mental resilience and aid self-sufficiency.

Household Soft Goods Set

Items such as towels, bedding, throws, cushions and other household soft goods are often needed to make a new place comfortable and feel like a home. Buying a household soft goods set will make a real difference to the people who draw on our support as they move towards independence.
